High Priest Sarcophagus

As part of salvage excavations along the defense wall north of Jerusalem, IAA archaeologists have discovered a fragment of a sarcophagus bearing the inscription ben hacohen hagadol.  See the IAA press release with pictures here and for discussion of the epigraphy (1st cent. BCE or CE) and whether the ben means son or is the end of name see here.
