A week ago today I was returning from Jordan. It was 24 hours straight of traveling, and then the next day I had my Cultural Anthropology final. In other words, not a fun time. So now I am back to work at the archaeology institute, trying to write a paper about anthropological perspective on agricultural basins in the hinterland of empires, and looking for a second summer job. On the dissertation front, Don Wimmer was able to get permission from the Jordanian Department of Antiquities to send pottery from the last season of excavation at Safut in 2001 back to Andrews. So next week I will drive to O’hare and pick up the Safut material along with the Jalul objects from air freight.
